Schedule: Monday–Friday
Position 1: High School Life Skills/Transition Program | Ages 18–22
Position 1 Licensure: Moderate or Severe Special Education
Position 2: Pathway Program | Grades K–4
Position 2 Population: Autism | Verbal & Nonverbal | Low–Moderate Functioning
Position 2 Experience: ABA/behavioral experience preferred
Licensure: Moderate Special Education for the Pathway position
YOUR IMPACT
The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support through two full-time openings at two different public schools in Methuen, MA. One opening is in a High School Life Skills/Transition Program serving students ages 18–22, focused on preparing students for life after high school through transition services, job applications, employment readiness, money management, independent living skills, and functional academics. Candidates with Moderate or Severe Special Education licensure are encouraged to apply.
The second opening is in the Pathway Program for elementary students in Grades K–4. This is a substantially separate classroom serving students with Autism, including both verbal and nonverbal students with low to moderate functioning levels. Experience with ABA/behavioral approaches is preferred. Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized learning plans and IEPs, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with educators, related service providers, and families to support academic, behavioral, social, and functional growth.
WHAT YOU NEED:
* Valid Massachusetts Teaching License with Special Education (Moderate Disabilities) certification
* Eligible to teach in MA through DESE
* Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
* Designs & delivers individualized instruction for students with disabilities
* Knowledge of MA Special Education laws and IEP development
* Classroom experience Monday-Friday, structured setting
* Experience with students who are nonverbal, on the autism spectrum, prone to tantrums, runners, or wheelchair-bound preferred
